THE LITTLE SYMPHONY
The Little Symphony is a summer music program is a 4 week program where we teach children ages 5 - 12 years old to learn a new instrument and to collaborate with others to perform in front of an audience. We strive to develop your child's musical skill in an instrument he or she may wish to learn. Musicians off all calibers are
welcome. Give your child a head start and introduce them to music and an instrument, before the school they go to requires it of them. The program is $55.00/day.
Sessions Available
The Summer Program offers two sessions. The half session will be from 6/20-6/30, 9am to 12pm (Mon.-Thurs). The full session will be from 6/20-7/14, same time. The difference between the full session and the half session is the omission of a final orchestral concert. The final orchestra performance is reserved for students who enrolled in the full session because it allows ample time to prepare them for the concert. Students enrolled in the half session portion will still be able to participate in choral, orchestral, and daily activities.
Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to give every student a well balanced musical experience. Participants will be asked to practice their pieces individually and also learn how to cooperate with other players, team building. The classes will start with a daily routine of choir or rhythm, followed by a one hour orchestral rehearsal and one hour music theory class. In addition, one private lesson will be scheduled once a week. The repertoire will be assigned during the first day of attendance.

A Musical Opportunity
One great aspect of our summer program is learning how to play a new instrument; this is the thesis of our program! This portion of the program is open to all students who participate, new and experienced. Perhaps your child who has been playing a specific instrument wants to learn how to play a different instrument. They can choose to stick with their formal instrument or choose to play a new one for the duration of the program! We will offer instructions in Violin, Viola, Cello, and Piano (only a few number of instruments will be available for those who want to learn and play a new instrument, please contact “Sono Strings” for instrument availability and instrument rental rates).
Thank you for your interest in our program and I hope to meet you in person, please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
